Multi-element concrete quantity planner

Concrete Calculator

Build a concrete take-off for slabs, footings, walls, beams and columns, then separate net volume, waste and the final rounded order quantity.

Concrete elements

Combine slabs, footings, walls, beams, columns and known volumes in one order estimate.

Net item volume: 7.500 m³ · length × width × thickness

Order allowance and cost

Waste is applied before optional supplier-increment rounding. Density is used only for the approximate mass.

Quantity planning only: use project dimensions. The calculator does not size structural elements, design reinforcement or verify concrete strength.

From Net Volume to an Order Quantity

Each line item is calculated from its actual geometry and quantity. The net total is kept separate from the waste allowance and supplier-increment rounding, so the reason for every additional cubic metre or yard remains visible.

Worked Example: House Slab

A 10 m × 8 m slab at 150 mm thick has a net volume of 12.00 m³. A 5% site allowance increases this to 12.60 m³; rounding upward to a 0.5 m³ delivery increment produces a 13.00 m³ order.

Worked Example: Strip Footings

Four 12 m strip footings, each 0.5 m wide and 0.3 m deep, total 7.20 m³ before allowance. Enter the four identical runs as one line item with quantity 4, or model differing runs separately.

Worked Example: Columns and Beams

Six 300 × 300 mm columns at 3 m high require 1.62 m³. Four 5 m beams at 300 × 500 mm add 3.00 m³, giving 4.62 m³ net before waste and order rounding.

Limits of a Geometric Take-Off

Irregular profiles, sloping surfaces, penetrations, blinding, pump-line priming and construction tolerances may require additional line items or allowances. Confirm the final quantity against drawings, pour sequence, site conditions and supplier rules.

Concrete Calculator FAQ

How much extra concrete should I order?

The right allowance depends on excavation tolerances, formwork, spillage, pump priming and the supplier's order increments. Enter a project-specific percentage, then use the separate rounding option to model the supplier increment instead of hiding both effects in one factor.

Why is order quantity higher than geometric volume?

Net volume describes the entered geometry. Waste adds a site allowance, and order rounding may add another small amount so the order matches a practical delivery increment. The calculator reports all three values separately.

Does reinforcement reduce the concrete quantity?

Reinforcement displacement is normally small in preliminary concrete take-offs and is ignored here. Congested reinforcement, embedded items or large voids may justify a project-specific adjustment.

Can I combine slabs, columns and beams?

Yes. Add each element as a separate line item. Every line keeps its geometry and quantity visible, while the result panel totals the complete project.

Does this calculator design concrete elements?

No. It estimates material quantity from dimensions you enter. Strength, thickness, reinforcement, durability, loading and structural adequacy must come from the project design.
