Foundation quantity estimator

Concrete Footing Calculator

Estimate concrete volume, weight, premix bags and cost for multiple footing types using project-supplied dimensions.

Footing dimensions

Combine different footing types in one concrete estimate.

Concrete and cost

Engineering note: Enter dimensions from approved design or project requirements. This tool estimates material quantity only and does not recommend footing size or verify structural adequacy.

Concrete for Strip, Pad and Circular Footings

Add multiple footing types to one estimate. Each group has its own dimensions and quantity, and stepped footings can include a second rectangular volume.

Volume, Waste and Weight

Net geometric volume is calculated first. Waste is applied to the ordering volume, and concrete density converts that adjusted volume into estimated mass.

Premix Bags and Ready-Mix Cost

Bag count uses the manufacturer yield entered by the user. Ready-mix cost uses waste-adjusted volume and the chosen price per cubic metre or cubic yard.

Use Designed Dimensions

This calculator deliberately does not size foundations. Bearing capacity, settlement, frost, loads, reinforcement and structural adequacy require project-specific engineering.

Concrete Footing Calculator FAQ

How much concrete does a footing need?

Volume is calculated from the footing geometry and quantity. The selected waste allowance is then added for ordering.

Can I combine different footing types?

Yes. Add separate strip, pad, circular or stepped footing groups and the calculator totals them.

How are stepped footings calculated?

The tool adds the two entered rectangular step volumes and multiplies by quantity. Use separate entries for more complex profiles.

How are premix bags estimated?

Waste-adjusted volume is divided by the yield you enter for one bag and rounded up. Use the manufacturer's stated yield.

Does the calculator design footing dimensions?

No. You supply dimensions from approved drawings, project requirements or a qualified structural design.

Can I use cubic yards?

Yes. Results show cubic metres and cubic yards, and price can be entered per either unit.
