How salary tax works in Poland
For a standard employment contract, Polish take-home pay is shaped by ZUS, the 9% health contribution and progressive PIT. Local options include spouse income for joint assessment, dependent-child relief, one qualifying PIT-0 exemption and an employee PPK contribution.
Income tax in Poland
The annual scale charges 12% up to PLN 120,000 and 32% above it, with the PLN 3,600 tax reduction. Joint assessment applies the scale to half the combined modeled taxable income, while annual child relief and a selected PLN 85,528 PIT-0 exemption reduce eligible tax or income.
Employee contributions
The breakdown shows employee pension, disability and sickness insurance, health insurance and optional PPK. Pension and disability use the annual contribution ceiling; health and sickness follow their separate bases.
Take-home pay example
A married couple can enter both taxable incomes to test income splitting. A qualifying parent of four or more children may also select PIT-0, while a 2% PPK election remains a cash deduction from take-home pay.

Poland salary calculator FAQ
Which Polish PIT-0 reliefs are available?
The tool supports the youth, returning-resident, four-plus-family and working-senior exemptions. Choose one confirmed category; overlapping reliefs share the statutory PLN 85,528 annual limit.
How are marriage and children treated?
Entered spouse income is used for the joint-assessment estimate and child count applies the ordered annual credit. Legal joint-filing conditions and the income test for an only child are not automatically verified.
What employment does the Poland result represent?
It models one ordinary umowa o pracę with standard annual employment costs. Civil-law contracts, self-employment, multiple-employer costs and detailed monthly PIT-2 timing need a different calculation.
