Weekly time card, without a spreadsheet

How the Timesheet Calculator Works

Enter only the days you worked. Each complete row is calculated in minutes, which keeps break deductions and weekly totals accurate before decimal hours are shown for payroll or invoicing.

Daily worked time

End time − start time − all breaks

Weekly hours

Sum of valid daily worked time

Overtime

Worked time above the selected weekly or daily threshold

Gross pay

Regular hours × rate + overtime hours × rate × multiplier

Breaks are deducted per shift

The first break field is ready for a lunch deduction. Add more fields for separate unpaid breaks; the calculator combines them and rejects a total break longer than the shift.

Overnight shifts stay positive

If an end time is earlier than its start time, it is treated as the following day. For example, 22:00 to 06:00 is eight hours before breaks, not a negative duration.

Regular, overtime and decimal hours

Human-readable totals remain primary, while decimal hours provide a payroll-friendly secondary value. With daily overtime enabled, the weekly rule adds only non-duplicated overtime minutes.

Optional gross pay estimate

Pay is calculated only when you enable it. The selected currency formats the figures and does not convert them. For a country-specific net-pay estimate, use the Salary After Tax Calculator.

Timesheet Calculator FAQ

How do I calculate hours worked?

Enter a start time and end time for each day. The calculator finds the shift length, handles an end time on the following day when necessary, subtracts breaks and adds the valid daily totals.

Does the calculator subtract lunch breaks?

Yes. Enter a lunch break in minutes, and add more break fields if a shift has several unpaid breaks. The combined break time is deducted from that day's shift.

Can I calculate an overnight shift?

Yes. When the end time is earlier than the start time, the calculator treats the end as occurring on the following day. A 22:00–06:00 shift is therefore eight hours before breaks.

What are decimal hours?

Decimal hours express minutes as a fraction of an hour for payroll or invoicing. For example, 7 hours 30 minutes is 7.50 hours, while 7 hours 15 minutes is 7.25 hours.

How do I calculate overtime?

Set the weekly overtime threshold and optionally enable a daily threshold. Daily overtime is classified first, then the weekly rule adds only any extra overtime required, so the same worked minutes are not counted twice.

Can I calculate weekly pay?

Yes. Turn on Calculate pay, enter an hourly rate, select a currency and set the overtime multiplier. The currency formats the result only; no currency conversion is performed.

Does this calculator calculate taxes?

No. Pay results are gross estimates before taxes, social contributions and other deductions.
